While there is no particular order I have complied a list of 10 blogs that focus on nonprofits. I believe that the nonprofit sector is filled with the most thoughtful, dedicated and strategic professional. The blogs that I have listed below also agree with that and that is why they take the time to highlight that, as well as many other important things that the nonprofit sector has. I hope you take the time to further explore these blogs for yourself and see what they are all about.
- TechSoup Blog – In todays day and age a make or break for a companies success can be how they utilize technology. - Hands on Fundraising Blog – When you think of nonprofits and their revenue you can think of it without understanding fundraising. Personally I have seen how intricate and tricky fundraising can be. As a one stop shop the Hands on Fundraising Blog discusses many aspects fo fundraising that are not often talked about but can make or break a nonprofit. Whether it is looking at how to reactive donors after they lapse in donating or whether it be how to design your website to encourage donations. The Hands on Fundraising Blog talks about it all.
- Beth’s Blog – As a consultant, author, influencer, virtual trainer, and nonprofit innovator. From topics like year-end giving, donor management, communication strategies, as well as many others, they seek to provide their readers with the resources to fundraise o the best of their abilities. I think that they are so successful becasue nonprofits often have small teams so the collaboration and help is not always there for fundraisers. By providing their readers with a variety of posts on important fundraising topics they provide those int he fundraising profession with the support that they are unable to get in their own organization.
- Nonprofit HR – With the slogan “Strengthen your people. Achieve your mission” the Nonprofit HR blog does that by showing their readers new trends and best practices for the social sector. The core of an organization has to be strong for the rest of the organization to succeed so by creating this blog they are able to help many organization do just that.
- Nonprofit Law Blog – One of the biggest deterrents people have to creating nonprofits is the understanding of all of the legal mumbo jumbo that you need to know before creating one. To start one you need to fill out several documents and forms that will vary from state to state. You then have to send them in and wait several months and even up to over a year to finally get them all passed and certified as a registered nonprofit. The Nonprofit Law Blog recognizes that and sets out to inform their readers of the confusing legal side of the nonprofit sector.
- Nonprofit Quarterly – The Nonprofit Quarterly not only has a blog bu they have both podcasts and webinars all centered around hard hitting topics like racial justice, economic justice, climate justice, health justice, and leadership. All of these topics are equally important to address in the changing world that we live in. They should not be overlooked and so the Nonprofit Quarterly ensures that they do not especially in the social sector.
